The 2026 Scottish Championship is shaping up to be one of the most exciting martial arts events of the year. In addition to a full day of outstanding competition, participants will have the opportunity to compete for £1,150 in cash prizes across three prestigious events.
Whether you are a Black Belt looking to test your skills against top competitors or a UMKS practitioner striving for tournament excellence, this year's championship offers an incredible opportunity to challenge yourself and be rewarded for your dedication.
Traditional Guhm Moo Hyung Challenge
The first cash prize event is the Traditional Guhm Moo Hyung Challenge, which is open to Dahn Bo Nims and Black Belts from ANY Korean martial art style.
This special division celebrates the precision, technical excellence, and traditional beauty of Traditional Guhm Moo Hyung. It is an opportunity for practitioners from across the Korean martial arts community to demonstrate their understanding of this classic form while competing against highly skilled martial artists.

1st Place: £200
2nd Place: £150
3rd Place: £100

Mirae practitioners, please note that competitor does not perform the extension during this open event.
UMKS Black Belt Challenge
The second cash prize event is an exclusive competition for UMKS Black Belts.
Competitors will perform Joong Bong Ee Hyung (Bong 2) in a showcase of precision, control, power, and technical mastery.
This event highlights one of the signature forms within Mirae Mu Sul and provides UMKS Black Belts with an exciting opportunity to compete for both recognition and cash prizes.

This exclusive event is designed to celebrate the high standards of excellence expected of UMKS Black Belts while providing an exciting challenge among peers.
The Ultimate Honor: Mirae Tournament Champion
The pinnacle of the Scottish Championship will be the crowning of the Mirae Tournament Champion.
This prestigious title cannot simply be entered—it must be earned.
Competitors must first win Grand Champion within their respective age and rank division. Once all Grand Champions have been determined, they will return to the competition floor for one final championship round before a distinguished panel of five judges.
From this elite group, one competitor will be selected as the Mirae Tournament Champion and awarded a £250 cash prize.
More importantly, the title represents exceptional all-around martial arts ability and the highest level of tournament achievement at the Scottish Championship.
How to Qualify for Grand Champion
To be eligible for Grand Champion, competitors must:
Be a Black Belt
Compete in all of the following events:
Open Hand Forms
Staff Form
Sword Form
Techniques
Sparring
Breaking (18 years of age and older only)
Points earned in Open Events will also count toward the overall Grand Champion score.
Medal Point System
1st Place: 6 points
2nd Place: 4 points
3rd Place: 2 points
4th Place: 1 point
The competitor with the highest cumulative point total will earn the title of Grand Champion for their division and advance to the Mirae Tournament Champion Finals.
